Varsity Lakes Tavern

On Saturday 17th January 2015 we went to the tavern for dinner. When we arrived we were ignored by staff and found ourselves a table. My partner sat at the table while I went to check our keno tickets and order drinks before our meal. The staff serving at the bar ignored me, even though I kept walking from the keno counter to the bar waiting to be served. Staff served three customers while I had already been waiting for service and then another staff member walked towards me and I asked them "is anyone working here?" and the person said there were short staffed (assume it was the management) and they would serve me. After they have given me my keno tickets I asked them for drinks (the bar was beside that person). They said I would have to go around to where the staff was serving and queue up again. So disappointing. Organised a surprise 60th Birthday for my parents, which we had planned to have a at Varsity Tavern. We had booked the room (4 months prior to our event), then closer to the event we ordered the food, agreed on all other arrangements and the invitations were sent out. 2 weeks before our BOOKED event, I called to ask a question about the decorations, to which was told they didn't have our booking, any of my details, and no record of a payment. I went straight to the bank to print a statement and too it in the same day. Great location and a fairly moden Tavern. All the usual bar options, pool tables and restaurant. Not a bad feed and easy to find just off Bermuda Street.
