I have used the Vee Dub Centre for many years, and initially found them to be a good company.
Lately I have been very disappointed in their products and their workmanship.
Parts that weren't supposed to rust did. After paying $6000 for one of their reconditioned engines that leaked oil, I was told that I should expect things like that in a reconditioned product.
Recently I took in my Kombi for some work on the drivers side window.
I'll spare you the details but my window wouldn't wind up so back into VDC.
The side window was brand new, it now doesn't fit in properly and i had to fill the gap with a waterproof sealant.
During their work they scratched off part of the window tinting and were not at all interested in taking responsibility or making good their mistake.
Today the window stopped winding again and that was the final straw as far as I'm concerned.
I would definitely not recommend the Vee Dub Centre to anyone.
Absolutely terrible service with attitude asking why Do you want that part you don't need it . Always Rude, always cash in hand I have been here 3 times and always receive wrong parts and they wouldn't do a refund when I called, just buy somewhere else cheaper and less hassel me and my friends have had terrible dealings here if my car won't run too bad I refuse to give them buisness
Poor customer service. I called and asked for second hand parts, asked if they had a certain part in stock "yes plenty". Drove 400km round trip to pick it up, when I got there "oh no we only sell those brand new". Waste of a day off work, he wasn't even apologetic, just a condescending smirk. I'm in the beginning of my build too, plenty of $$ now walking elsewhere.
Last time I checked Vee Dub Centre was and is a spare parts shop as advertised. The service they give is fantastic and they have always been helpful with advice. They stock a huge range of vintage spares new and used, including performance parts and engines. They have been around for about 30 years and hopefully for many more!!
AVOID AVOID AVOID:
I phoned to get a quote for a service at Vee Dub Centre and was told that they probably couldn't fit me in until July, which I was fine with. So asked how much it would cost me, was put on hold, then the staff came back on the line and said "They don't want to do it anyway, so it doesn't matter", I replied "Well that's a good business ethic, isn't it?!", Staff just said "Yeah it is." and hung up on me!
I cannot believe how rude they were, when their business is to service VW's and they are turning away customers point blank??!
