After our satisfactory breakfast at another restaurant along Mooloolaba Esplanade, we went for a stroll until our friend ask if we've ever tried a cronut. To which, both my husband and I replied a 'no'. Intrigued, I asked, what was it? After he explained what it was, my husband having a sweet tooth, wanted to head back to a cake display cabinet which he saw one earlier. So we ended up at Via Italia. Although, we didn't dine here, looking at the decor, it came across as a restaurant that was slightly pricier than many other neighbouring restaurants & cafes. Keen to get his hands on one, we stood at the counter to purchase the last cronut available. The original price displayed was well over $5 but when we paid, it was discounted by almost 50%. This mornings experience:
- told to take a seat by a staff.
- sat down for approximately 10 minutes watching two other families sit down after us and have their orders taken.

My favourite Italian restaurant on the Sunshine Coast. Reasonably priced and great menu especially the entree's. Family of 5 with 3 courses and drinks came to under $150 which was great value as the food was excellent. Service was friendly and welcoming however a little slow at times particulaly with drinks, but I would definately go back.
My wife and I were on our Honeymoon from 31-10-11 til 8-11-11 and we dined at Via Italia almost every day, sometimes two or three times in the one day. We found the staff very friendly and welcoming. The meals were excellent; we enjoyed a wide variety and especially liked the fresh herb gardens which they added to meals. The coffee was excellent, we tried others but none compared. Special thanks to the Managers and Owner for making our Honeymoon just that little bit more magical.
