I love this swim school! My eldest child swam with Vicki when her business was in New st. Ringwood. Couldn't have been happier with her progress - she seemed to transition through the levels quickly and within 3 years at the age of 9 was in squad. When Vicki moved her business to Kilsyth I sought to find swim schools for my younger two children in my area and reqretfully after trying three schools (all of which were disappointing for various and different reasons) I decided to make the commute to Kilsyth, the effort has been well worth it! I would have saved alot of time, money and energy had I just moved to the Kilsyth swim school. Their teaching technique just seems to be really effective. My younger two started in levels 1 and 2 and within 3 years were both swimming in squad at the ages of 9 and 10. Pros;
#1. Great teachers.
Cons;
#1. Not enough seating. Most of the time I have to stand the whole time to watch my son. There is room for two rows beside the pool if they spend some money.
#2. Parents getting away with placing towels and bags on seats making others have to stand and staff do nothing about it. Put up some signs and pull them up!
#3. Lighting. It is very dark in the center and the lighting needs an upgrade.
#4. Condensation. The place has a lack of air flow and people are constantly dripped on from the build up on the ceiling.
#5. Temperature. In summer, the temperature must be at least several degrees hotter in the centre than it outside which is horrible. It should be cooler if anything.
SUMMARY
If it wasnt for the teachers and the better swim program, I would be taking my son back to the Kilsyth Centenary pool where the facilities are far superior.
Disappointing experience
I had been going to Vicki fields swim school for over three years and had always paid upfront and made every effort to give notice when I could attend. I recently missed the start of term due to a medical condition came to one lesson and then had to stop due to a different medical condition. When I asked for a refund they refunded the rest of the semester but refused to refund the lessons missed at the start even though I could not do make up classes due to doctors orders. I had given them copies of medical certificates for the lessons missed at the start of term and copies of my phone records to show that I had called them before the ...read more
