They have been around for quite a long time, also another shop based out in St Albans. I often find that I stick to the same Vietnamese bakery once I’ve identified a favorite or something that I particularly like at that store even if it’s the one item. I come here specifically for the small meat pastry puffs, they do it well. The meat quantity I find are generous and the pastry not too oily, a little but more in cost compared to others nearby that are offering the same, but it’s so worth it. They’re often busy here over the lunch period, the staff here are fast & efficient. Never had any problems with the service.
Victoria cake shop has been around for years and it well regarded in Footsray. They are about a minute's walk away from the train station. But the only problem is that they are opened at 8:30am which is not great for early morning commuters that want their breakfast fix. Like Breadtop, they are self service takeaway store. They don't just sell yummy cakes which I have had before, they also sell savory and sweet buns and they even do freshly steamed buns such as the chicken, red bean, custard and combination buns for under $3 each. The custard tart is delicious too!
They make by the absolute best Pt So (Pate Chaud) here. The best I have ever eaten. It's so fluffy and soft, the moment it enters your mouth, it crumbles into awesomeness. Although very buttery, it's just so delicious. And the meat inside is of high quality too. I haven't eaten anything else here, I'm sure they have other good things, but the Pt So is more than enough reason to come back. Highly recommended!
Victoria Bakery is always reliable. It makes good steamed buns - not the best in Footscray, but close. The steamed Big Bun is a winner (for guys). The cheesy twists are nice and cheesy. Their special birthday cakes are very popular - there always seems to be someone picking up a cake. The puffy meat pastries are delicious, if you don't mind a bit of oil. The staff are friendly and include one of the most beautiful girls in Footscray. The cream buns are big and sweet.
Nothing much to say about this place, it's just a good, reliable Vietnamese bakery, a bit better than most. Never lets me down.
