Great for an in a hurry take-away lunch. Came here wanting something quick, picked the pork roll.
Firstly i must mention that am not a major fan of pork but they said that would be the quickest thing to make (i ordered it thinking it was going to be the crappy pinkish pork you normal get in a pork roll). I have had pork rolls in the past with the crappy pink pork filled with preserves but this was real pork (and cooked on the stove) it wasn't the cheap preserved type of pork you normally get. The bread was also toasted which was great. All up it was one very tasty lunch! Pork and chicken rolls are reasonably priced at $6.
Just be careful if you ask for light chili it's just going to be regular chili there is no such thing as "light chili" like you get from some chains where there are different degrees of chili.
The whole thing tasted nice and fresh will gladly come back here next time when in the mood for pork roll or just in a hurry for lunch.
All round good performer. Got the special combination vermicelli bowl. Unfortunately, the vermicelli ran low and the staff were good enough to offer extra salad, meat or rice if I wanted. While it was a slight deviation from the menu it still went down a treat. Can see myself visiting this good workday lunch venue again. Located in the food court of the building and can be accessed from either Pitt St or Castlereagh St sides.
For a fairly small hole-in-the-wall takeaway shop, they certainly churn through orders efficiently - especially if you order one of their pork rolls which are assembled at the glass counter. I have a feeling this will be a regular lunch spot when I'm wanting something quick, fresh and tasty. Being a fan of Viet pork rolls I decided to order one of their "Hectic pork rolls".. this was not your average Viet pork roll! Instead of the usual slices of cold mystery meat, pate and mayo, this roll had a generous serving of grilled marinated pork meat and a healthy serving of Vietnamese salad. The grilled pork is very, very tasty and although a little on the salty side, it's neutralised by the generous serving of salad and the fresh crusty roll.. perfectly crusty on the outside and soft and fresh on the inside like a good roll should be. For $6 I really cant ask for more. A great fresh and tasty alternative to your average burger.
