After experiencing the longest lockdown in the world in Victoria Village Cinemas refuse to honour our gift cards purchased pre covid by our kids for 200 dollars. Just disgraceful. There was no great movies shown after the lockdowns and vaccine discrimination was lifted. We simply didn't realise they had a expiry date. Other major companies like JB Hifi,Bunnings,Coles,Woolworths etc. do not have expiry dates. Village Cinemas customer service is appalling. Buyers please be aware and give Village a miss.
Purchased approx $200 in movie vouchers for Christmas 2019 and due to Covid restrictions and avoidance of enclosed public spaces, have not used in 2020. Vouchers now deemed invalid when online booking and head office simply says 'sorry - expiry was 6 months from purchase' (this is contrary to Consumer law from Nov 1 2019) Totally unhelpful and unwilling to resolve especially in light of cinemas being closed for much of 2020. Very poor customer service and I will spend my money on streaming services and driving past Village cinemas to support the independents even more now....
I had an issue with my card expiring and I sent them an email. I had a very quick response via email and they kept my upto date with the progress and finally got a very favourable outcome. I really appreciate your understanding and extending the gift card expiry.
I was quite skeptical about village cinema after I read all the reviews but I had a very positive experience.
Bought 10 Village Gold Class tickets last year in a promotion from Village for $30 each. Used one, now the other 9 do not work on their website. They don't care that they have sold me a product that does not work, and refuse to offer a refund. I was a $1000+ per annum customer, and would often spend $100 or more on food/drinks on each visit. The crazy thing is that I would spend more on tickets if they refunded me the 9 vouchers, as the full price tickets cost more! There's at least three movies that I have not attended while tryin to sort this out, which has probably cost them $300 in food/drinks. What a garbage company. what hopeless customer service.
Unable to book online and no one to call to help.
Village has removed their direct telephone service so we have to email now, however we’re trying to make a booking for today’s session, and it’s a public holiday so their office seems to be closed.
The only way for us to book is to drive to the cinema then book, then go back home for a few hours and return again.
However if the seats dissapear by the time we arrive, we’ve wasted our time. Such a bad system by a company that is trying to cut costs and increase profits.
