Its good there is a cinemas at this shopping centre but it sure needs a refurbish. You pay to watch a really good movie and the seats and cinema layout is terrible. The seats do not have a head rest so if you wanted to rest your head you would have to slouch so low that potentially will fall off your seat. The screen is so high that doesn't matter where you sit you have to raise your head up and because there is no head rest you will be sitting so uncomfortable. Village cinemas across Melbourne that i have been to are all alike, Airport West is the only one i have come across with really bad seats and screen. Time to upgrade please.
I don't know what other reviewers are complaining about. These are my favourite cinemas to go to. Loads of parking. I only had to queue for tickets once, in school holidays peak. Ticket prices are low compared to other Village/Hoyts cinemas. OK the cinemas aren't the newest, but they are clean and there have never been any issues with the sound or picture quality. The seats are comfortable, and because this cinema is never that busy, you can choose your own seat (I hate when they allocate the seat to you) and you can spread out.
Took the grand kids to see a movie today at Village Cinema Airport West - never, ever, again. Had to queue up for over 40 minutes to buy the tickets as only 2 people were serving at the counter. When I was eventually served I did ask the lovely person who served me if other staff had called in sick, and was told that no this was the usual number of people working as they don't expect many people to come there!! I pointed out that perhaps it was due to the long queue and the lack of staff, especially at 11.20am on Wednesday during the school holidays, but was told that they were hardly ever busy. Now I know why friends recommended I not go there!! Never again, but not in any way blaming the staff that were working just hope the other people in the queue were as polite to them as I was. Quite a few people did leave the queue. Thanks Village - and to think I thought about becoming a member.
TOILETS. NEED UPGRADING, LONG STANDING STATE OF DISREPAIR, CONSTANTLY MANY OUT OF ORDER, DOORS DO NOT CLOSE OR LOCK, SOMETIMES HANGING OFF HINGES. SOME WITHOUT LOCKS. HUGE GAPS AROUND FRAMES, TOILET PAPER DISPENSERS ONLY ALLOWS PAPER TO COME OUT IN TINY SHREDS. SOAP DISPENSER ONE ONLY AND DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY. SINKS AND BENCHES IN NEED OF UPGRADING, CHIPPED, DIRTY GROUT AND MOULDY AROUND SILICONE SEALS. BETTER TO GO TO OTHER SHOPPING CENTRE'S TOILETS.
DISABLED TOILET. SINK AND BENCH HARDLY ATTACHED TO WALL. DIRTY AND MOULDY IN NEED OF SERIOUS REPAIR.
