The recent Harry Potter Midnight Premiere could have been a night of absolute chaos, given the crowds and the anticipation and level of energy of the crowd - but thanks to the staff and organisation of Village Cinemas at Crown - our night went off without incident. We started with the reviewing of Deathly Hallows Part 1 at 9pm in one of the regular cinemas, and moved effortlessly into our Gold Class recliners for the Midnight Premiere session of Deathly Hollows Part 2. Despite the huge crowds within Village that night, with standing room only outside the cinemas, the manner in which staffing had been organised meant patrons that evening were treated to friendly, accommodating staff - whom at no point allowed patrons to see how stressful a night such as this could have potentially been to orchestrate. Crown Entertainment Complex is certainly on the to-do list of many visitors to the city. As a local, what impresses me about the complex is its location to so much, with a covered parking facility that, whilst not the absolute cheapest in the city, is still very reasonable. (We paid $25 all day on a recent visit, whilst other city car parks will bill you close on three times that sum.) Crown is a place we visit for Christmas, as the children and teens like the Christmas Decorations! And whilst there, we like to take in a movie at Village Cinemas. Riding the escalators up to the top floor builds anticipation in the kids, and we have generally found this cinema to be more comfortably fitted than others. If booking for Gold Class, it is worth noting that the sessions seems to book out much further in advance than at other Cinemas throughout Melbourne, so it would be worthwhile to plan and purchase your tickets well ahead. This is the best movie experience ever. Gold Class was all class. The staff could not do enough for us. The chairs were so comfy.
It was a great night out. The ticket system was easy no stress, parking was a breeze at Crown. We highly recommend doing a Gold Class night at Crown
