Counter staff should be fully trained in advising clients of any particular requirement associated with their prescription. This is to alert the client of any particular point even though it may be typed onto the prescription box. Recently my wife picked up a prescription for a Hep B injection serum which was to be administered by her Doctor's nurse the following day. When she went for the injection she was told it couldn't be given due to not being refrigerated. No advice was given by the pharmacy staff before placing the prescription in a sealed paper bag and it was assumed that all she had to do was to take the serum to the doctor the next day as received. The up-shot was my wife had to pay for new serum again and for it to be ordered in. This could have been totally avoided if the pharmacy counter girl had read the instructions on the box and advised of the requirement to refrigerate the serum before placing the box in the sealed paper bag. Not good enough I'm sorry.
