I enjoyed a lovely lunch at Vittorio's when in the HV for work.
Chose the veal scallopini ($20) and sat close to the fire for a cosy lunch with a glass of local Sem Sav Blanc ($7.)
Meal was well cooked, over crisp asparagus spears with a creamy mushroom sauce.
I was first to arrive at 12 but by the time I left the place was nearly full, so very popular.
Would be back.
Went to Vittorios today with a bus tour. We had preordered our meals. I ordered the seafood basket and was excited as I love prawns and scallops, both of which were promised on the menu. I also ordered a garlic bread for the table. The only thing on my plate was a dry overcooked piece of fish, two overcooked calamari rings and two prawn cutlets (these were actually tasty, but only 2? really?) and undercooked chips. No scallop at all. I paid $20 for this inedible swill. The garlic bread was dry and tasteless. Nobody could eat it. We are regulars up at the vineyards and we will never eat at this place again.
Had breakfast with my wife 10 December 2011 Saturday. I ordered an omelette with a side order of sauteed mushrooms and cappuccino, my wife ordered scramble eggs with bacon and orange juice. My omelette was burnt and dry when served. Anyone who's seen my order will find it repulsive and won't even dare touch it. Still I only finished 1/3 of it. When it's time to pay the bill, I approached the management courteously and told them about my order. Instead of showing concerned or be apologetic about it, they gave me a look and very unacceptable attitude that I'm just making a big fuss about it. I even took a photo of my order for reference. They said that they won't charge me but I just replied that I'll just pay for it and just make sure to take this complaint seriously. ...read more
