There are books, interesting gifts and a caf, with a colourful eye-catching mural on one wall. There's a good selection available on the menu as well as additional items in the display cabinet, and make sure you leave some room for dessert! I enjoyed a lasagne although the token bit of salad looked a little sad and would have been better left off the plate entirely. At the time of order I did ask if a salad came with the lasagne and was offered either a rice salad or a pasta salad which I though was not really suitable to go with a lasagne so I opted just for the lasagne on its own. I ate here for lunch with a friend and there was perhaps just a little bit too much time between both our meals coming out, although that said, we did order separately. I thoroughly enjoyed the sticky date dessert with icecream although next time I would probably share it with someone. Service was ok - nothing special but nothing to complain about...a smile wouldn't have gone astray!

I have been here quite a but but today my black tea was too strong and they wouldn't give me hot water to make it weaker without charging - really!!!!

I absolutely love catching up with friends at Volumes. Lovely & sunny on the deck in summer & snug & warm by the fire in winter. The best coffee & fantastic service.

It's no secret among the locals how good this place is. No matter how busy it gets the food comes out fast and is always superb. The interior is visually stimulating and there's a vibrant atmosphere. Take a wander through the giftshop/bookstore where you're sure to find something unique.
