Waratah Bay Caravan Park
Waratah Bay Caravan Park is about a 2 hour drive south east of Melbourne. Nestled in the heart of Prom Country it is a mere 20 minute drive from the gateway to Wilson's Promontory. The Caravan Park is fronted by about 20km of sweeping pristine beach. One of the safest beaches in Victoria, it offers great swimming, surfing and fishing. Boats can be launched off the beach. The Waratah Bay Caravan Park is a great family Park with children s playground, BBQ's, amenities, powered and unpowered camping sites for tents and caravans, and self contained cabins. It also has a small shop for basic requirements. The nearby area has plenty of space and flat ground suitable for bike riding with the family. A great place to stay whilst exploring the many beautiful features Prom Country and Gippsland has to offer, or just a great place to relax and soak up the simple things in life such as fresh air and beautiful scenery.

I stayed here in March 2014 with my family in a camper trailer. The beach is lovely and the staff pleasant. We found the park to be very dirty, especially the amenities which should have been cleaned more frequently during a long weekend. The campsites were small and surrounded by ugly and old permanent "vans". The TV room was disgusting. At the entrance of the park there was a stockpile of old white goods resembling a garbage dump. We checked out after one night and explained to the staff that the park was "grubby". Never again.
Waratah bay caravan park what a spot with lovely surrounds right on the beach who could ask for more. Me, clean amenities would be a start and when you let the front desk know there is a problem it started a very quick down hill run. paper in the urinal for 3 days and dirty band aids in the shower is not alright . Yes they did apologies for over stepping the mark later after they did clean the block. All other staff were very friendly and made us feel welcome.
The management has made the effort to contact us and apologised again for our treatment and invited us back at no cost. Happy with the effort
Lovely views. The bunkbeds are incredibly uncomfortable and were marred by a bedbug infestation in the cabin that I stayed in, Ended up with over twenty bites over three days, my brother had over 100. Had to fumigate my house when i got home as they were carried back on the linen we had to take with us.
My suggestion.... BEWARE. The management didn't even apologize and tried to blame us.
