Warramate Vineyard
Owned by the Church family since 1969, this winery on the north-facing slopes of the Warramate Ranges overlooks the magnificent Yarra Valley, and produces shiraz, cabernet, pinot and riesling vines that have been hand-pruned and from grapes that have been hand-picked. These traditional methods produce wines of intense flavours, elegance and aging quality. Warramate Wines is working on environmentally sustainable principles of non-irrigated vines and absolute minimum chemical usage to prevent spoilage. Customers can enjoy their drink assured that the wines have been produced without additional water - one of our scarcest resources. The cellar door staff will welcome you to taste their range of wines and enjoy the ambience of the property.
One of the Yarra Valley's older wineries with vines dating back to the 70's (IIRC). Family run, they are always happy to tell you about their wines and other tips for visiting the Valley. Its up a hill with a great view and is also next to the popular Coldstream Hills winery ... so these 2 wineries combine to make a good reason to get off the main roads.
