Watsonia RSL

You know, it is possible to arrange a visit to the Watsonia Army Barracks. Then, when you leave, drop by this great RSL that is bigger than I would have expected before venturing there. I found it a great way to round off my visit to the base.

Don't bother - service appalling - put more staff in restaurant and less in bar. Food average. Very long wait when ordering food. Overall poor management

DON,T BOTHER..HAD A CHICKEN PARMA WITH VEG AND CHIPS, CHIPS WERE VERY COLD SOME OF THE PEAS WERE STILL HARD IN THE MIDDLE FROM BEING FROZEN, PARMA WAS VERY AVERAGE, NICEST PART OF MEAL WAS THE ROAST PUMPKIN AND COMPLIMENTARY DINNER ROLL, AND IT WAS $22.50 I GO OUT FOR LUNCH AT LEAST 2 TIMES A WEEK AND I,VE BEEN TO NEARLY EVERY PUB AND CLUB IN THIS AREA AND THIS WAS ONE OF THE WORST..VERY DISSAPOINTED..(BENNY H.)

Typical RSL style bistro meals, however they were decent size portions for a reasonable price (members area). Chicken parma etc all done well, with no complaints from our party.

The Watsonia RSL is a small and cozy place to visit. The major parts of the RSL are Callahans bar where you can get a vairiety of beers on tap or wine for the ladies prior to enjoying a memorable meal in the new ANZAC bistro. The prices are attractive and there a budget busters prices on Tuesdays and seniors lunches can be had everday. They also have a variety of interesting events on various days including their now ongoing poker nights upstairs. So there are lots of reasons to visit.
