What a great school this is. We moved our daughter here after finding that the local private school couldn't really cater for her many interests. We wanted somewhere that would cater for her artistic side as well as her academic side, and we have found that at Wavell. The staff are all highly dedicated, long serving professionals who seem to have a real passion for getting the best from the students. We love that their school slogans are 'to be, rather than be seen to be' and 'everybody is somebody at Wavell', and they clearly live and breathe that philosophy. They have now been awarded status as an independent school, which we're led to understand gives them greater control over selection of staff, and it will be interesting to see how that improves their outcomes. The recent talent quest would have given contestants on The Voice a run for their money, and the Dance, Drama, Music, Rugby League and Netball excellence programmes nurture those students who might have ...read more
