Stunning Seaside DiningOVERVIEW
Hidden away on the beach with stunning views over Port Philip Bay, Waves on the Beach offers an amazingly picturesque dining experience.
Built in 2004 on one of the most unique locations in Mornington Peninsula, Waves has won numerous awards and been featured on various travel and lifestyle programs.
For those visiting in the afternoon, we have an afternoon menu for between 3pm-5:30pm. There is plenty of parking of parking right outside our door and we are open 7 days, 11am till late.
OUR VENUE
Whether it is a casual meal with friends, a romantic dinner or a group function, everything at Waves has been designed to create a relaxed, casual seaside dining experience.
Our interior has an easy, coastal feel with comfortable furniture, letting the ocean take centre stage. On warmer days the outdoor balcony dining area is opened to allow the sea breeze to flow through.
OUR MENU
Our team of chefs have created a broad selection of flavoursome and satisfying meals that complement the relaxed, coastal feel of the venue. We make sure there is always plenty of variety on our menu, along with a daily specials board, which also showcases our fish of the day.
Furthermore, we have lunch specials, dedicated vegetarian and gluten-free menus and sharing options.
OUR PRODUCE & WINE
Our chefs take great pride in sourcing local, fresh produce, based on seasonality and keeping everything reasonably priced. We are constantly updating our menu â?? so make sure to keep checking in by clicking on the menu tab.

I can only say how very disappointed I was with my Meal :( The serving was miserable !! I had the 'Shared Starter - Seafood Tasting Platter for 2'. After asking if 1 person was to have it, would the Platter be enough as a Main Meal, & I was told by the Waitress that it was !!! I couldn't believe what was placed before me - a serving plate with 2 of the tiniest Oysters I have ever seen :( 2 small Prawns, a small amount of Calamari and a tiny amount of carrots in a jam !! plus a small amount of lettuce. For $24.80 this is a rip-off :( I can't seen them changing their printed Menu, so they should look at increasing the serving size. I'm sorry that a decent Tip was left :( Most of their Prices seemed quite high for the amount of food also that my Companions had :( People want value for money these days, so don't be so miserable with your Serving sizes !!!
Hands down the best restaurant on the Mornington Peninsula. I came here after seeing that it was voted by Dimmi diners as the top 100 restaurants in Australia list - and was not disappointed. Great food, reasonably priced, attentive staff and a great view. Make sure to try the Seafood Paella - delicious!
We had a wonderful evening at Waves on Wednesday night. The view and service was outstanding. We had such a great time we decided to go back tonight, the last night of our holidays. We sat down at an unreserved table inside as we noticed all the tables had reserved signs outside. A wait staff told us we had to move outside. The way staff spoke to us was shocking as it contrasted so strongly to the way we had been treated two nights earlier. The funny thing was staff moved us from an area of several unreserved tables to one where every table was reserved. I think it was the aggressive tone though that was most upsetting and such a contrast to our previous experience of this resturant. Not liking staff tone and manner we walked out...
