First full day of staying in a lovely home we are staying in through weekends.com for my son's wedding in the Hunter Valley cost $3800 for seven days. The house is fine however we experienced a plumbing issue (master bedroom hot water shower would not turn off) identified and reported to weekend.com the agent at 7.10am had to call agent 3 times throughout whole day waiting for someone to attend. At 7.15pm after sending a text message to the agent stating yet again we needed assistance and that perhaps we should contact the owner to see if we should arrange a plumber. Within 5 minutes after this text we were contacted and plumber arrived to fix the problem at 7.30pm. Would hate to be the owner of this property as the agent has really let us down as guests but the owner will probably be billed for the cost of an afterhours call out for something which could have been simply addressed very quickly during business hours. Our story started with 5 families planned a relaxing weekend away in the middle of nowhere with a hot tub (which only preset to 27 degrees in cold winter) and fireplace. We accepted that the hot tub was cold, and we enjoyed the fire pit and spacious house until the second night, about 8:30 pm. I was in the middle of a shower, and suddenly, there was no hot water. My husband texted the agent at 8:41 about the issue; we got a reply from the agent at 10:03 that asked us to check the fuse; there was no more follow-up throughout the night, and the rest of the guests did not get to shower. My friend group of 10 people and I recently stayed at 136 Stanford Street, Kitchener, for two nights for $3125.
On the afternoon of the second day, the hot water stopped working. We were left with no hot water on a cold winter night and contacted the property agent for assistance, as we didn't know how to resolve the issue. Unfortunately, they provided no response or help.
To make matters worse, on the morning of the last day, we discovered that the property had run out of gas. After we complained, the agent insisted that they would not issue a refund for compensation, claiming they had already provided instructions. This is the worst holiday housestay experience that I have experienced. Please be very careful when you book anything with the company as they are very dodgy and will rip you off.

I recently stayed at Bracken Ridge Villas Pokolbin for my daughter’s wedding, where we booked out most of the villas at around $1000 per villa per night. Unfortunately, it turned out to be the worst lodging experience of my life. The service was subpar, and the handling of a minor issue by the management left me feeling deeply disappointed and outraged.
