With Werribee Zoo and State Rose Garden within the complex, this is a place to visit. Beautiful, expansive grounds to have a picnic and for the kids to be entertained. Fresh air, well taken care of. There is a cafe onsite. Have not tried the food, only ice coffee and ice chocolate. Normal prices for those and good. Did not go into the mansion itself this time but will do in the future.
Great place to while away a few hours when in Melbourne. It's less than $10 to tour through the home and most has been beautifully recreated.
Australia doesn't have a lot in the way of history, so this is about as good as something from a bygone age gets here.
The grounds are also lovely and would be perfect for a spring picnic.
Cafe on site also good, limited menu but tasty food.
Worth a visit to try something different.
This place is absolutely beautiful to spend a day visiting and its surrounding. Not too far from Melbourne itself, well if you live on Eastern Suburbs it may take much longer. Dated back from the 19th century, it has an incredible garden, to obtain a better view of the garden you can capture much nicer pictures once inside. The mansion itself is so huge, can only imagine in those days how they communicated across to various rooms. Its opened to the public for a small fee, also within the Mansion by its side there is also a hotel/spa area. We also visited the rose garden which was within walking distance, beautiful location for scenic landscape photos. I wasnt expecting much visitor as its not one of those major tourist spots that is advertised everywhere, however on the day it did have quite a number of people passing through. Highly recommended for those visiting the area, alongside there is also a Zoo in the same location nearby.
