West Lake Restaurant

West Lake has been a Melbourne Chinatown icon for many years and is always busy. It is a Chinatown staple for lovers of Yum Cha and nearly always filled to capacity. It is also a great value restaurant and capable of accomodating large groups. The staff is helpful and friendly and always poised to attend to your needs.

Great Chinese restaurant. This is the place if you're looking for a tasty Chinese meal at a reasonable price. They prepare everything only with fresh ingredients and always very fast. The service is amazing. All the staff are really friendly and polite, they are also very good with children and even give small gifts to the little ones. Decoration isn't something special, but after all everybody comes here for the food.

Don't be fooled by the appearance. This restaurant looks old from the front, however, they have good quality food.



Staffs are friendly comparing to typical chinese restaurants (Flower Drum will be excluded of course).



The seafood the served were fresh seafood. Don't mind going there again.

If you enjoy yum cha, you will love the West Lake Restaurant. The food is very well prepared and nicely presented, and the serving sizes will not leave you hungry. The restaurant is always busy, so try to book a table in advance.

West Lake is great! Good surrounds, fantastic service, great selections & most of all finger lickin good food! West Lake is a star amongst many contenders. In reviewing a place like this I'd usually mention a few prime dishes, but everything here is good, not one dish stands out from the rest as they are all good. Go west for west lake!
