absolutely disgusted in Westent. Since they have been taken over by iinet they have gone down dramatically. Been waiting for a priority follow up for 4 days now, yes they hang up on you, cant send emails its wrong their staff are rude and obnoxious. They employ overseas contractors in south africa, that cant help you with anything. I would not recommend this company ever again, ive been with them for over 30 years now i will be looking for a new isp.
Finally after 8 calls and 4 promised follow up Anchal fixed the problem within 15 mins i put my hands up for him as he was excellent just totally appalled at the other operators and supervisors at Westnet

FAIR ENOUGH..WE MAY AS WELL ALL SWITCH TO TELSTRA AS THEY OWN THE LINES AND THEIR RATES ARE NOW ON PAR WITH WESTNET ANYWAYS!!!!
Westnet have pretty good service until there is a problem... My home line phone didn't work for 3 months. The internet did. They charged me, and wouldn't give me my money back for the phone (they couldn't call through, and I couldn't call out) even-though they did not provide the service they charged me for.
I of course decided to switch service providers and guess what? Westnet is still charging me! I haven't had their service now for another 2 months since I switched, but I still get the pleasure of the bills.
They can't find it on their system that I closed the account so no refund for me.
New to Perth I was looking for a phone and Internet service. After some research, I really thought Westnet is the way to go. What I didnt know was that if you choose to apply for a bundled plan (Internet and phone together from one company, that is supposed to save you some money) they will charge you $59 for the phone activation on top of the stated $79.95 for bundled activation. Well, you might say it was just $59, get over it...

Westnet is an excellent ISP. They have the best service I've ever experienced and always win awards for it. Their plans are pretty well priced, and come with good download limits and 6 free email addresses. Their new email system is really awesome too! It's like Outlook Express... but with more features, and you can use it anywhere.
