Westside Eye Doctors is owned and operated by Dr Jason Cassar and Dr Lily Ooi. Both doctors are Australian trained and are committed to personalised evidence-based medical and surgical eye care for our patients

Dr Jason Cassar [BSc, MBBS (UQ), FRANZCO] is an Ophthalmologist (eye surgeon) who specialises in vitreo-retinal and complex cataract surgery. He is originally from Melbourne, but grew up in Queensland (Rockhampton and Brisbane). He undertook his medical and ophthalmic training in Queensland. He was awarded a Bachelor of Medicine / Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the University of Queensland in 2002. He subsequently worked at a number of Queensland hospitals as an intern/resident before commencing ophthalmology training. After completing his general ophthalmic training in Queensland, he undertook two years of additional training, specializing in vitreo-retinal and medical retina, in the United Kingdom

Dr Lily Ooi [MBBS (hons), BMedSc, FRANZCO] graduated in medicine with honors in 1997 from The University of Tasmania. She moved to Queensland after graduation to commence her specialist training as an Ophthalmologist. After completing her Ophthalmology specialist training, she further advanced her fellowship training in the management of anterior segment diseases and strabismus at Princess Alexandra Hospital and The Royal Brisbane Hospital. Following her fellowship training, Dr Ooi spent one year with paediatric surgeon Dr Denis Stark learning the care of paediatric strabismus, and completed the essential paediatric ophthalmologist course at The University College, London
