Had a real need for an electrician (no power to the living area of our house) last Sunday (of course it had to be a weekend) and searched for a local tradesman that offered 'on call' service, Ha! That turned out to be a farce! I rang several who pretended to offer such a service and talked to many answering services, but a week later I still have not had a call back from any one of them (I do have the list of names).
Luckily, I came across Phil Whitney of WHITNEY ELECTRICAL and I'm so glad I did. Phil made some suggestions that might negate the need for any call-out visit from him, that allowed me to preserve my perishables and avoid those weekend rates. Now, for a tradesman to suggest I shouldn't pay excess dollars to him was a real eye-opener; especially having heard the price and call-out fee (from 400m away) a neighbour was charged to get a light batten replaced one night. ...read more
