Most of the times I've eaten here the food has been lovely. Service however, leave a lot to be desired. My friend had a broken chair and went to an empty table to retrieve one and the staff barked at her to leave it there. It took 5 minutes for them to bring another while my friend stood and drank her coffee ~ coffee which, by the way, came 30 minutes before the dessert, We had to ask the server to please take our dessert order about an hour after we had finished dinner, complete with empty plates sitting in front of us. So is it worth the lovely food when there are so many other excellent places in Ballina? We've given it a dozen chances and since the chair debacle, we haven't been back...
We eat at Wicked on a regular basis and are trying to eat our way through there huge menu, we have always found the service polite and attentive and the food freshly prepared and delightful, we have had a couple of dishes that we have not liked but that was more our fault in ordering dishes we normally wouldn't try than the way they were cooked, we also try to avoid the weekends as it gets extremely busy and we like our usual table by the window. We recommend the Seafood Chowder and the Chinese Roast Duck is Amazing
two attempts at this place.... A victory for quantity over quality..."pork belly" is not thick bacon strips, and prawns in Ballina are not pre-tempura'd frozen from Vietnam...paella is not supposed to be solid stodge with brutally overcooked ingredients, same for seafood pasta...Desserts are acceptable, but not worth the effort, just like the place...service was inconsistent
ok i had pork belly, it was nice, not exeptional but nice, rosti however is not deb potato pressed into a round then grilled. also creme brulee should not have any sugar crystals left under the toffee.service was lousy it took at least 10 to 12 min to get menus and that was only after we asked, even longer to get glasses for our wine. had a great eveniing but i think that was more because of the company i had.
