Wild Ginger, located in a heritage building in the heart of the rocks, next to Cadman's cottage and right opposite the Overseas Passenger Terminal. Perfect for a date, casual dinner or even a large party with friends or colleagues. There's a lot of different areas, bar tables and also some outdoor seating.
Thai food with a sprinkling of native Australian ingredients. With some new Thai entrees that we haven't experienced before. Classified as 'modern thai dining', it's certainly worth a visit. We were in a group so got a special selection of meals.

A change of ownership has seen the space formerly occupied by Sailors Thai morph seamlessly into Wild Ginger Dining + Bar. The most recent change hasn’t affected the cuisine, which remains in the upper echelon on Sydney’s Thai offerings, largely because the new owners sensibly chose to retain the same Thai chefs. My meal began rather royally, with Chor Muang ($4/each), steamed chicken dumplings. These beautiful dumplings are delicately plucked into flowers. The purple colouring is courtesy of the anchan flower (also called the butterfly pea flower) and thus totally natural. Smoky Snowy Mountain trout kicks the Betel Leaf ($4/each) here up to the next level. The smoky pink fish flakes are combined with peanuts, coconut relish and flying fish roe, wrapped inside very fresh betel leaves, resulting in a one-bite party in your mouth.
