This cafe is located on Main North Road which seemed to be main road in Clare. We stopped by for a late morning beverage after our drive from Adelaide.
The service had a wonderful town charm to it and very friendly. I liked the different types of seating on offer. Order and pay at the counter. You're given a number and they bring out your order to you. We had a Belgian Milk Hot Chocolate and a Latte. They use good quality products and definitely tasted it in our beverages. My friend noted her coffee had a great strong taste to it and my hot chocolate was silky smooth and decadent.
As we had already eaten lunch, we popped into Wild Saffron for a coffee and cake. Found the staff to be distracted - I stood around for a while before I was acknowledged and it wasn't very busy at that time. Nevertheless, as a coeliac I selected the almond orange cake with a capuccino. Wow- wished I lived closer so I could have another slice now. The cake was tasty and the syrup it was served with enhanced the orange flavour while the cream was a touch of decadence. The coffee was very good too- creamy and not a hint of bitterness. Next visit to the Clare Valley will definitely include a pop in to Wild Saffron for a piece of that cake.
An awesome Muggacino that didn't give me 3rd degree burns on my lips, a drink that you could enjoy followed by a Gourmet Steak Sandwich that defies description. I love it when you can actually eat food and not fight with it, literally melted in my mouth. Service with big smiles sealed the deal. I'll be back !!!!! Only rated 4.5 stars because I don't believe there's a better place but I've got to leave room to move in case I do :-)
