This is a great little suburban coffee shop, friendly staff. I am over the moon with their cold brew!! "THE" BEST ICED COFFEE....... ever! "If you like Pina Coladas, and getting caught in the rain," then come to the Wilderness bar .... and Escape. No seriously, if you're NOT into SWEET, then Dana's famed ICED COFFEE is the thing for you. What it is: Delightful Coffee, ice cold, strong, white. What it is NOT - not sweet, nor the bitter bite, and :o NO ICE! Very smooth. It's like an iced Flat White, it is seriously THE. ONLY. PLACE in the world where you'll experience this connoisseur Cold Brew Coffee. From now on I'm INSISTING on a "Dana" wherever I order iced coffee. Even if I have to teach every single coffee shop how to get it right. GO ON - get a DANA, you want it ;)
A+ for character and charm, and the coffee tasted great and the staff were friendly and helpful. Why not five stars? I also ordered waffles and found them to be quite distasteful and unpleasant in texture. Hopefully it's just a weak spot in their menu, as everything else was lovely.
Went here for an iced coffee and was underwhelmed by the whole experience. Apparently they don't do iced coffee with ice cream, only chilled milk and chilled espresso. It tasted moderate, not great but it was ok.
There is very little food, from what I could see. I couldn't see a menu, only 2 jars of cookies. Very basic seating and the counter looked like a throw together job. All in all, quite disappointing.
Bird&Deer is a Specialty Coffee Shop, not a cafe, so unfortunately icecream drinks and creamed drinks like that aren't available. They only do Cold Pressed Coffee. Which is fairly standard in the specialty coffee industry. They do have a menu that has a vast array of foods including a major bagel menu with assorted infused cream cheeses and toppings, waffles, gluten free muesli etc etc. they also usually have an assortment of different cakes / muffins or cookies.
In regards to the bar, I think it ties in very well with the overall shop feel and it most definitely doesn't look like it was whacked together. Its rustic and aesthetically pleasing and suits their style so well. It's unfortunate that your experience was not up to your standards but I think what they offer is very neich and particular.
