Wildfire Restaurant & Bar
I am acuatley aware that this place has closed down, however I realy wanted to post this review just to get it of my chest.
The location and setting was stunning, the place itself was just fantastic, but if was purly a rather expensive churrasco or grill place. I have had some great south american bbq's and this place was also good but grossly overrated. They promoted amazing views, and I went there on 4 different occasions and each time the only view we had was of yelling people coming off large cruise ships. I mean how much can a koala bear?? I complained twice and the arrogance of one of the management was just ...read more
Having dined at Wildfire for a work function I was very happy that I decided to order from the menu rather than indulge in the meatastrophic smorgasbord Churrasco, not for any other reason than I am not a huge meat eater. For those that did choose the churrasco they all raved about it. For starters, you can't pass up the Pacific oysters with their bursting flavours and the John Dory was melt in your mouth and delightful and an extensive wine list to match. The atmosphere is contemporary and the layout open planned so you don't feel boxed in. Flexible arrangements from your tables for two for that romantic anniversary or a large table for a group. Central location in the heart of The Rocks,
I've eaten here a number of times and I've never been disappointed. We even took our kids there for lunch on Mother's Day and they were very well taken care of. The food is divine, the wine list extensive with very helpful someliers, and the location is sensational. I had my 40th birthday dinner in the private dining room and my friends still talk about it 3 years later as being one of the best nights of their lives. It certainly was an amazing evening. I couldn't have asked for more.
Sure, it's expensive, but it's not the sort of place you go to often so it's worth the extra money for the extra service and quality of food.
I went to wildfire on a Friday night , we booked in advance and we booked early , good idea . As it got very busy by about 8-8.30pm . But this venue is huge and they have so many waiters, they can easily deal with a busy night .
The food was delicious . We ordered oysters , beetroot salad , and two entrees as a main .
The tuna and prawn ravioli dishes were amazing .
Perfect views , service was good , sometimes you couldn't find your waiter to ask something but pretty good service
pricing pretty high but worth it for the quality of food , wine and service
