I had the voucher for 2015 Festival of Foods and as it was a close girlfriends birthday coming up I decided to take advantage of the amazing deal and organized my friends birthday with a few of our other close friends for here at Windy Point Restaurant. I figured, why not - the birthday girl should have a nice night out, the girls haven't been here for a long time and we all deserved some fine dining with a spectacular view! The service was exceptional, the staff were very friendly and attentive, the view stunning and the food was amazing! Even more amazing with the little price we paid for the quality and quantity of food we had - we walked out of the place so full! So full that we couldn't even finish our desserts that we had to take it home! We all had a wonderful night and are still talking about how great the food, service and view was. Thank you Windy Point Restaurant Chefs and Staffs. Would certainly recommend this place and also come back!
Spectacular views, interesting menu, fairly good service. We went here in a group of 3 for a birthday and a group of 3 turned out to be the perfect number for a seat right on the great curved window, as they have semi-circular tables up against the glass. I had booked ahead, not even sure originally if it would be open on a Tuesday evening, and lucky I did as the place was packed!
We were feeling very hungry and festive so had entrees, mains and dessert. Mistake. None of us could fit the huge desserts in - all the serves are very generous. There was a chocolate something or other for 2 to share which had 2 x 6 separate chocolate desserts in miniature, what an amazing offering and beautifully presented, but we couldn't finish it. Our birthday guest went home very impressed and happy, and we will most certainly be back next time we want to celebrate or show off to a visitor.
This restaurant does have amazing views and comfy chairs, but as far as the food goes I did not think it lived up to its hype. We had booked in advance, yet we were kept waiting 15 minutes beyond our booking time. The food was not that great, and the service wasn't either. For the prices we paid I expected much, much more - both in quality of food and service. The matre d' saw fit to make an off-the-cufff sleazy remark (a joke?) when returning our coats to us at the end of the evening, which didn't exactly enhance the romance factor in our evening! We wont be going again.
We are people who enjoy eating out often during the week. Unfortunately Windy Point was a great disappointment this evening. This was the worst meal we have ever had the displeasure of experiencing. Both the meat and fish mains were overly salty and the passion fruit-lime crepes overly sweet. To add insult we were overcharged without an apology. Absolutely appalling. The staff really need assistance with appropriately focused customer service - a glass of wine or water required a request by having to flag down a waiter. Even the view could not make up for such disappointing service and food. Do not waste your time or money here.
