Wonderbao offers a tasty, cheap lunch-time option that is mostly geared towards the uni student crowd from RMIT across the road. In saying so, they were one of the first, if not, the first to offer the open bao in Melbourne. Like any trendy place in Melbourne, they're tucked away in an alley behind Swanston Street. Staff here are super friendly and the atmoshphere inside the shop is great. Unfortunately, there's not too many seats. Expect to pay under $10 for 2 baos and a drink.
There seems to be a lot of snack places popping up of late, with the latest craze being street style chinese buns. Wonderbao seems to set the trend in Melbourne CBD with its intimate, slightly tucked shop in an alley not far away from Melbourne Central.

I've eaten a lot of steamed buns in my life time and honestly, this place isn't anything special. It just tastes like any other ordinary steamed bun, with an inflated price. They are some what fresh, but in saying that, they're still just ordinary steamed buns. The service here was extremely friendly though which is always a delight.
