Woolwich Pier Hotel
Woolwich Pier Hotel has an air of casual sophistication to it, with simple modern furnishings and it's waterside location. There are indoor and outdoor areas, which have been made weather proof with umbrellas and in built heaters, perfect for use year round. The bistro, which doesn't take bookings, serves a delicious modern Australian menu. In the bars you'll find a good selection of beers, wines, cocktails and spirits, with sports broadcasts and comfy lounges to recline in.
You’ve got to love a pub that’s accessible by boat. Just a five-minute stroll from the Valentia Street ferry wharf, the Woolwich Pier is the perfect place to relax with a tipple after a day of exploring. The recently renovated first-floor Harbour Lounge is a stylish cocktail bar with views across the water to the city skyline, while the outside courtyard, with its three self-contained party bungalows, is a top spot in any weather. ...read more

Honestly, this is another one of those really fancy pubs that I generally don’t like. It isn’t so much that the pub itself is a bad pub, it is just that the atmosphere isn’t one that I can really warm to all that much. Also, it is one of those tricky pubs to get to, which is also a problem where I’m concerned, though it isn’t necessarily the pub's fault. They did have some nice beers, and the beer garden was pretty cool as well, but in the end, it really isn’t my scene.
Would not recommend this venue for lunch on a Sunday. They obviously don't care about their clients as they are more interested in making money by not having another staff to cater e.g. to eat upstairs you have to carry your own food up a steep set of stairs, you also have to go downstairs to buy drinks to carry back upstairs while there is a bar upstairs sitting there unattended. The queue for lunch was 20 mins, staff did not seem to know what was going on with the serving of the meals. Very disappointed would not eat there again.
Had a fantastic steak here, say yes to the Cafe Paris butter, say yes to the shoestring fries and say yes to the entertainment book voucher which gives you buy one get one free!
Lots of seats, but gets quite busy and cold in winter.
Thoroughly enjoyed our meal especially paired with a good bottle of Pinot...
This is a nice neighbourhood pub. I must say, though, that the parking is becoming increasingly difficult when you only have street parking, not that a huge multi storey car park should be built. There are other eateries very close by and so you're competing with them. A solution might be to park up the hill, or get dropped if you're wearing heals or of it's raining. Book ahead for a table if you are a group, even a group of four and it's a popular time such as Sunday lunch. It's an attractive building and the food is good and the price is fair.
Had fun here with a group of friends. Family friendly atmosphere and the staff are easy going and nice. Some do the tables were in need of a good clean though. Our table was so sticky our plate got firmly stuck... No joke. After a waiter saw how sticky it was he was going to come back and wipe it down but he didn't. I guess it was a busy night but it did put me off my food a little. The lobster spaghetti was tasty but there wasn't much lobster in the dish. The portion sizes are small but I guess they do expect you to order an entree and dessert.
They are apparently under new management so maybe they are still finding their feet.
Love the atmosphere here though!
