Supermarket & Grocery Stores
Woolworths Ltd
80-88 Rundle Mall
Adelaide, SA, 5000
I like the location of this store just a little more than the Coles across the Mall as you don't have to walk far at all to get in and out - especially to the chocolate bars (not that I'd know that ;-)), and their self-serve checkouts point out to the mall rather than Grenfell St.
Great range of other goods too, though to be honest their fresh food isn't as great as Coles' and some other fresh items like flowers are horrendously overpriced - can get cheaper in the mall. However, if you want somewhere just to zip in to and pick up a few things then this is a good choice.
I came in one morning looking to get macarons for morning tea at work. I was actually looking for the premade packs that I've seen on shelves in other woolworths stores before but this one didn't sell it. Luckily though this woollies has a little coffee/cafe shop in the middle ground floor and they sell cakes and macarons so I got my morning tea from there. Not badly priced and the macarons did taste nice.
so convenient to grab a healthy snack on the run when in the city. service is rushed, but its a supermarket in the city - so cant really expect anything more!
i really like how many machines they have for self service, but its annoying how they are set up in a line. if you have a trolly you cant get through properly
Has a good range of foods and other groceries. The only thing that is sometimes lacking is the fruit and veg. You get served really quickly at the registers. It's sometimes a bit disconcerting to see the security guard out the front of a supermarket, but i guess that's the world we live in!!! It can be a bit far to walk with heaps of groceries though too!!
