Woolworths Ltd

Not a fan of this supermarket. Returning for the holidays, I tried to shop here earlier in the morning but the heaters would be blasting onto food shelves and I found items higher up eg. cans and bread too warm to purchase. Also I didn't appreciate the staff member at the self-serve ranting and raving about me apparently not pressing the "I'm using my own bag" button. I had pressed it and was on my 3rd bag! I explained to that impatient and impolite person that sometimes on scanning and placing of the item in bag that the maching was not detecting the weight and had to be jiggled. I was completely ignored and the staff member continued at the top of their speaking voice telling me off for not pressing the bag button while other shoppers looked on. I had not asked for the staff member's assistance nor was I expecting them to channel an old-fashioned school teacher so horribly bitter with the world. Don't staff get paid to be courteous?

Overall a good supermarket and a handy store. The freezer section though is a let down. I ceased buying eg. frozen cake as it was full of ice crystals. Some freezers were iced-up throughout 2018 and causing spoilage. I was disappointed with my recent purchase of a packet of individually wrapped ice-cream. The ice-cream shapes were greatly distorted. I recently had the displeasure of seeing a large trolley of frozen goods sitting abandoned with no team to place items for purchase and my consumer confidence in quality items diminished. Check-out time at this supermarket one has to endure usually rude staff. I was told that I didn't know how to tap-and-go and that I was doing so wrongly, when it was the machine that was not functioning. The operator demanded twice that I give them my card and that they would do it. Be prepared for long queues at registers as some staff talk too much instead of getting on with the scanning.
