This is actually a zero star review. I struggle to find anything good to say.
I helped my in-laws set up with iiNet NBN. Their signup was fair and delivery was quick, and it worked out of the box.

I am horrified by the negative reviews for iiNet! iiNet almost restored my faith in service providing companies in general - that is how much I like dealing with them! Firstly their internet service is second to none. Fast and reliable - everything you want. Their price structures are competitive and affordable. With added extras like free data from Netflix and iTunes they are hard to beat. When there is an issue of any type their call centre do call-backs which save you waiting on hold (big plus) and staff seem appropriately cross trained to handle all types of inquiries. There follow up service is second to none. After issue has even resolved they call one more time just to ensure there aren't outstanding issues. I would use any one else format phone and internet connections.

iinet are a marketing company that happen to offer phone and internet services.
Unfortunately they are very very poor with communication and dealing with problems. I have had a very stressful experience in dealing with them overall.
Avoid iinet.

Honestly. iiNet is likely one of the worst providers in Australia. My connection is always terrible, despite their god awful customer service team continuously telling me that I'm "in a prime location". While they may be cheap, they're clearly cheap for a reason. Stick with other companies such as Telstra, iiNet's lower price isn't really worth the pain.
