Normally I would have simply written this up as a pub, however since I ended up staying renting out one of the rooms they have available my first ever experience of staying in a pub I felt it necessary to write it up a little differently. Mind you I would hardly call this place luxurious, and a swift kick to the door of my room would probably have opened it (not that I tried), and while they served breakfast in a kitchen, they lacked a toaster, nor were there any tea spoons (or decent sized cups). Not too classy and just your ordinary pub style seating, drinks and food, although if you want somewhere close y the CBD to meet some friends for after 5 drinks this is not a bad place to hang out. Regular crowd without the rowdiness and over capacity of other city outlets, reasonable prices and indoor or outdoor seating to choose from.
Nice to see some of Sydney's heritage places still standing and the doors still open.
Great pub. Not a big space but feels just right for the clientele - after work office types. The pokies are nicely shut away in a street-front box, leaving the rest of the bar area for those who just want a drink and a chat before heading to the station. A few nice period features remaining from the original pub - check the depth of the grooves on the Erskine street side where thousands of kegs have been rolled down into the cellar over the years!
