Went to the Tavern on a Sunday. Looked nice, but had to wait a while to order even though their wasn't many people. Then had to wait to get a drink, lots of staff just seem to be hanging around? When I received my meal it was luke-warm a curry beef I think. A VERY small bowl of Curry with about half a small glass of rice that was nearly cold and not cooked properly. My wife's meal was similar. I complained that he meal was small and cold, but had no refund or apology from them for the poor meals we were served. NOT HAPPY JANE. I will never go back and I will tell all my friends and relatives to steer clear.
Ordered a steak medium rare, was barely pink when I cut into it and quiet chewy. Veges on the side were going on cold. Service is good, waiters are very nice and willing to get you what you want, good atmosphere, but food is very average, can get a far nicer meal for almost $30.
I ate at the Yamanto Tavern recently and the service was outstanding, the new menu was absolutely delicious and our meals came out perfectly with great presentation and they tasted fantastic. I would not hesitate in recommending the tavern to all my family and friends and I am looking forward to my next visit!
Yamanto Tavern deserves its title winning the Best Redeveloped Hotel in the Queensland Hotel Awards. Its food is simply amazing, staff are friendly, helpful and polite (and nothing is too much trouble), bar is well stocked and wine list is impressive.
This has to be the best place to eat in Ipswich and I will definitely return.
