I started going to the Yarraville swim centre when I was about three months pregnant. A group of women do aqua aerobics there on a Monday night.
I felt very welcomed and the classes were just what I needed to be able to keep active and later on feel weightless when my belly was taking over.
Mark, the pool manager is also great and you can tell he loves what he does.
The pool was always a good temp - important in Melbourne winter! And I would recommend it for general swimming as well as the aerobics classes.
My Grade 2 and 5 kids have been having lessons and squad training for the past 2.5 years at Yarraville Swim centre. Kids couldn't swim butterfly and breaststroke when they joined but now butterfly is their favourite stroke! They love competing during Sunday swimming club sessions. All of coaches have been terrific. We have visited 6 other pools but Yarraville stands out by far.
My five year old daughter has been going to Yarraville Swim Centre for the past year. Since starting her weekly classes she has learnt to swim all four strokes. The staff are always warm and welcoming and my daughter loves going. I couldn't recommend this centre more highly.
My five year old has been swimming at Yarraville Swim Centre since she was 6 months old. Last week I watched her swim in her new squad class where she swam 40 laps of 25 meters. That's 1km in total. Even more impressive was that this 40 laps was in 4 different strokes not just freestyle. She has been taught freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly since she was an infant and it is really paying off. When she got out of the pool she told Mark, her coach she would swim 50 laps next week. Which she did. Being able to have my daughter in a squad at only 5 is fantastic. I didn't know this pool existed until a letter box drop and since my first time there in early 2011 I am yet to find myself a pool that compares and always find myself coming back. There is the lovely community feel, everybody is super friendly. Lane availability, music on while you swim, cheap rates, fantastic pool floor what more could you ask for?
