I love this place, its one of Sydney's happy little secrets. It won't suit everyone, cozy and quirky and a bit rough on the edges, we don't have enough places like this in this town. The coffee is excellent, the food was good, can only speak for lunch. The menu small, but nicely varied. Nice place for a quiet restorative glass of wine with a friend in the late afternoon, and I've heard its a great after theatre / late night spot as well. Go Yo La!
I booked York Lane Bar & Caf for my fiance's surprise 30th birthday party. The owner, Dieter, was wonderfully accommodating, the food was excellent and the vibe second to none. In the past I've also dropped in here for coffee during the day and drinks during the night. I can't recommend it highly enough. My fiance described it as "the best night of her her life". This means I'd better get cracking on organising an impressive wedding. York Lane, you've set the bar high!
