Zab Isan Thai Restaurant

Another lovely family feed at Zab Isan.
We'd booked for 8 and the table was ready and waiting as we arrived.
Corkage was reasonable and the food was tasty too. Enjoyed the seafood salad and barramundi for main.
The fried ice-cream is always a hit too!
Unfortunately, on going home, I woke up after a few hours with a raging thirst which is a pretty sure sign of added MSG!!
Very disappointing!

We had a large group booking of 13 for a family meal at Zab Isan for a Tuesday night, and were glad we'd booked as the place is packed with locals, even on week nights. It was a warm night inside but all the outdoor area had been taken, so it's likely worth booking early if you have a preference.
We were left alone a lot at the start of the evening as guests all arrived and had to request water and menus from the staff but once the orders were taken, all meals were served promptly and correctly.
We enjoyed the mixed entree to start and the duck larb. My daughter chose two entrees for her main and they were happy to bring these out with everyone else's meals. Friendly staff on duty and great flavoured Thai meals. No complaints from this outing!
Oh, and it's BYO so don't forget the vino!

I am sorry to have write this review on Zab Isan, but over the last year this place has slowly gone from great to bad. The last three times i have not been great, but at yesterdays lunch, I could not finish my meal. It is disappointing that a place that once the best authentic Thai food on the coast has changed to the not good they now serve. My Thai wife and myself will never be returning place of mediocre food and service.
