I agree with others - Dont let the location or neighbours fool you. Wonderful restaurant, beautifully decorated, alot of hard work has gone into this place. Food is great, and the portions I had were large for price. I cant wait to try Dim Sum, and wish it was available weekdays as well as weekends. And cant wait to use the special seating area with low tables.
Amazing decor and even better food! The menu goes above and beyond the standard sushi place. The interior is beautifully decorated and truley unique. They have aimed for oriental authenticity but with a western twist. One area is designated for shoeless sitting at a low table. I sat down there with my legs crossed under the table, only to discover (once I decided my legs needed a stretch) that there's a big hole under the table so you can actually sit as if you were in a chair. An interesting touch, I thought. The enourmous orange lights suspended above the table like an uvula (the dangly thing at the back of your throat) a worth a visit on their own. Unfortunately, the place is so new that's it's unlicensed still (BYO only), but from the looks of the menu that will change very soon with japanese (and other) beers and sake on offer.
