Reef Teach is a marine education company that has
been based in Cairns, Australia for the past 19 years. The Reef Teach multimedia show runs from Tuesday to Saturday from 18:30 to 20:30pm. Private shows are also available.
Reef Teach aims to showcase the marine
environment, in particular the Great Barrier Reef, in
an entertaining, informative manner which will
create appreciation for its beauty. Through this
appreciation we hope to increase the conservation of
our oceans. This ideal has given birth to the Reef Teach
motto with learning comes appreciation.
Reef Teach showcases the Great Barrier Reef though a
multimedia slide show presented by a qualified Marine
Biologist. By attending Reef Teach you will enhance your
reef trip experience as you will have a good idea of what
you will be seeing and you will see things that you may
ordinarily miss.
The slide show is presented on a screen 3m X 3m in
size, with over 200 spectacular images of the Great
Barrier Reef. The show will explain about the reef as a whole e.g. history,
what are corals, how to identify the common species and show the common fish species you will see and how to identify them. We will also tell you about the interesting life styles many fish and animals adopt to survive e.g. cleaning
stations, about, turtle, sharks, giant clams and all the small things that are easily missed, such as Nudibranchs, flatworms etc. Also mentioned is some Conservation issues facing the reef.
We also have one of the largest collection of Marine Biology books in Cairns.
Cost per adult $15.00 and $8.00 per child. Family rates available (2 adults and 2 children) $38.00 (one child is free).
