Ian moved from Tingalpa to the bayside suburb of Wynnum about 18 years ago. He really enjoys the coastal atmosphere. He and his wife, Sue, often go down for fish and chips by the water. "That's a great way to wind down at the end of the week and just spend some us time."
Ian spent several years in the Army before moving into Information Technology. "There are a lot of parallels between IT and the antenna/audio-visual industry. My time in IT certainly helped me to develop excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills in this area. I am known as the go-to man for difficult installations."
With over 10 years in Jim's Antennas, Ian is one of our more experienced technicians. He has government endorsements in domestic, commercial and satellite systems, and there are few jobs that he cannot tackle. His experience covers the whole range from a single extra outlet in a house to large commercial antenna systems for retirement villages, high-rise buildings, hotels and other commercial installations. He and his second technician, Rhett, work closely as a team. "Having Rhett on board gives me much more flexibility in scheduling jobs and the ability to tackle larger jobs without seeking outside assistance. Larger jobs can be finished much more quickly because we are used to working together. I do enjoy the challenges of designing and installing larger systems, but also get a lot of satisfaction from seeing a home owner be really happy with the result we give them. As I say in my business club, I love to give clients a picture that is worth a thousand words."
Ian is known for never letting a problem get the better of him. He will always find a way to get the best result.
