Milawa Cheese Company is a small family owned and operated business. Started in 1988 by David and Annie Brown and now joined by daughter Ceridwen Brown. It makes a large variety of European style cheeses made with both cow and goat milk, from fresh curd cheeses to more matured types like white mould, washed rind and blue vein cheeses, all made by hand without the use of animal rennet or preservatives.
Milawa Cheese Company's Bakery crafts a range of artisanal sourdough breads baked daily on site, the perfect accompaniment to their world award winning cheeses.
The Bistro features a regionally driven menu, including a range of Milawa Cheese Pizzas. A recent addition to the site has been the development of Milawa Cheese Company's Centre of Culinary Excellence, a kitchen classroom to help you learn how to make some of the regions finest produce at home. Built with support from TQUAL Grants, an Australian Government funded initiative.
Other onsite attractions include Wood Park Cellar Door, The Muse Gallery of Milawa, Walnut Tree Collections and Eucalypt Woodworks.
So why not stop in and experience the free cheese tasting, pick up a loaf of traditional sourdough, stop for lunch on the terrace and then explore the rest of the site?
