Hallett is a friendly little town on the Barrier Highway in good cropping and grazing country. We're at the hub of three great trails: Dares Hill Tourist Drive; Heysen Trail (walking) and Mawson Trail (cycling).
We're the ideal two hour stop on the road to Adelaide. Take a short break at the Minimart and stroll across the road to the Op Shop. Or visit the famous Wildongoleeche (Wild Dog) Hotel and the dingo on the bar - there's warm hospitality, good meals and comfortable accommodation. Our history collection is well worth a look - and we can organise a guided tour.
For the more active visitor, take a town tour (maps available at the shop), hike the Heysen Trail or ride the Mawson Trail - both go through town. Camping with hot showers is available at the Recreation Ground.
Make time for a coffee and chat while you're here - the locals are friendly and happy to talk.
