Dr Anthony Arcuri is a registered Counselling and Clinical Psychologist. He holds a Doctor of Psychology in Counselling Psychology, along with a Bachelor of Arts and a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychology, from Macquarie University, Sydney. He has also completed specialist studies in Clinical Psychology.
Anthony has over 10 years' experience working therapeutically with adults and adolescents across a variety of settings, including private practice, mental health, youth drug and alcohol, and university settings.
Anthony works across the spectrum of psychological difficulties (e.g., depression, anxiety, personality difficulties, substance use, etc) with a primarily psychodynamic approach, and has additional background training in systemic family therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy, and specialist substance use treatment.
In addition to psychotherapy work, Anthony has worked for a number of years conducting research and teaching in the areas of psychotherapy, substance use and young people. He has had his work published in international journals and books, and has presented numerous papers at national and international conferences.
Anthony has taught personality studies and drug and alcohol studies to undergraduate students, and qualitative research methods to postgraduate students, across several universities. He is currently an Honorary Associate of the Department of Psychology, Macquarie University, Sydney.
