Treatment for work-related stress/burnout:
Burnout is a phenomenon characterised by emotional exhaustion, feeling disconnected from others and experiencing a reduced sense of accomplishment. Burnout is recognised to result from repeated and prolonged exposure to occupational stress. People experiencing burnout in the workplace often report feeling pressured or unappreciated by their employers and experiencing conflict within the workplace. These stressors are often accompanied by feelings of loss for a once enjoyable and fulfilling role. Treatment of work-related stress usually includes developing strategies to manage stress, understanding and changing relationship dynamics in the workplace ans grief counselling to process the loss of a once cherished role.
Counselling for the LGBT community:
Simon has several years of experience of counselling people from the LGBT community. There are a number of personal problems that are more common for people from the LGBT community to experience. These problems include confusion about sexual orientation or gender identity, concerns regarding coming out, experiencing homophobia and experiencing anxiety/depression/relationship problems as a result of experiencing rejection or discrimination.
