I spent many years as a self-employed photographer working in and around Western Australia. I followed that with 12 or so years in the arts world creating metal and stone artwork for the garden and outdoors. At the turn of the millennium, I decided to listen to my heart and took on the challenge of gaining a 3-year university degree in counselling from the University of Notre Dame in Fremantle. I then spent 10 years working with people with addictions in the alcohol and other drugs field. In 2013, I ventured out into private practice providing holistic counselling first in Fremantle and, from the beginning of 2017, in Busselton. I grew up on a sheep station in the Murchison area of Western Australia and although Busselton and south west region is very different it is still wonderful to return to the countryside, the more gentle way of life and the beautiful fresh air. A turning point for me was my introduction to the work of Dr Bren Brown in 2010. She so beautifully captured what I was feeling about the way we deal with connection and what gets in the way of that. Dr Browns work fundamentally changed the way I lived my own life and the way I approached working with my clients. This, combined with a search for my own authentic voice through many different modalities, has led me to a practice that is very holistic in nature, yet informed by a university degree.
