TimiAlaere is a womenswear fashion label based and made in Melbourne Australia. The independent ready-to-wear label was founded and designed by Nigerian born Timi Onduku-Pedley, who migrated to Australia in the mid 90s.
Timi studied Fashion Apparel in Darwin before moving to Melbourne. But then, after receiving a BA in Legal Studies from Latrobe University, she soon decided the legal field was not for her, and return to her true passion by launching TimiAlaere in 2012. The Alaere of the label refers to a 'woman of substance? - the universal muse for the label. Women who strive to bring forth the best side of themselves. Women, who are confident, liberated, with an eclectic sense of style, and embraces trends, but are not dictated by it.
TimiAlaere focuses on trans-seasonal women?s clothing, with minimalist sophistication, timelessness, easy to wear and effortless flair. Each TimiAlaere collection incorporates, plain solid colours of quality fabrics, sourced locally, whilst a majority of the prints are exclusively designed by Timi and manufactured in Asia.
Timi tap into a vast pool of inspirations, to create these unique prints. Drawing inspirations from her African heritage, her everyday Australian surrounds, nature and travels to intriguing cultures, to design pieces with beautiful aesthetics, that merges vibrant boldness with subtle simplicity.
