Somerset Aviation offers aviation theory training for those studying to for the CASA instrument rating examination. Since 1995 we have provided quality theory training to pilots preparing for the CASA instrument rating examination.
Our classroom is located near Brisbane. Pilots travel to our establishment for our courses as we offer accommodation for pilots outside of the Brisbane area. The facilities are very comfortable and are located in a tranquil bush setting. All meals are provided as well as free airport transfers.
Class size is important to us at Somerset Aviation. Pilots can be assured that they will be in a class of 5 or less. On many occasions, there will be less and one on one tuition can be organised.
Lindsay, your theory instructor, has been teaching aviation theory since 1995 and is an experienced pilot himself. Lindsay holds his Certificate 4 in workplace training and assessment and is a registered theory provider with CASA.
Somerset Aviation also offers training for overseas pilots with Foreign Licence Conversion. Somerset Aviation go through the appropriate preparation to convert their licence to Australian CPL or ATPL standard and to sit for the CASA exam.
Our students also have the opportunity to undertake flight simulator training. Flight Simulator Training offers a unique opportunity to expand your knowledge and experience of instrument approach & landing (IAL) procedures. An optional and practical training session in a B737-800 flight training device (FTD) is available as a supplement to the IREX course.
