The foods we eat are made up of many components, including sugars. Fructose is a sugar found naturally in many foods, including honey, wheat, fruits and vegetables. Fructose is present in a single sugar form and also as a chain of fructose sugar units (fructans). In fructose malabsorption, the normal absorption of fructose is impaired and can cause a variety of unwanted and uncomfortable symptoms. Fructose Malabsorption can be managed by eating fructose friendly foods.
Eating out is particularly difficult for people who suffer from Fructose Malabsorption. The easiest thing to say is ?gluten free with no onion?. However wheat not gluten is a problem, even small amounts of onion are a big problem (which can be hidden in sauces, marinades and meat coatings), garlic in large amounts, many other fruits and vegetables are not suitable either, along with honey! So finding anything suitable to eat is very difficult.
We at Fructose Friendly foods understand the problems faced when eating out and provide a variety of delicious not only Fructose Friendly foods but also some Fructose Friendly and Gluten Free foods (to cater for those with Coeliac Disease).
